Mission Statement
Our team aims to design and create an easy-to-use, customizable and portable first-aid kit to keep individuals stocked with their most vital medical supplies. Initially, our project team sought to improve the traditional bandage for joint and finger application. However, with the numerous products on the market and the lack of technical material knowledge, the team transitioned to evaluating bandage applicators as a means of addressing customer feedback. Through a series of customer interviews, the team identified that customers were not that interested in bandage applicators or dispensers. Instead, they highlighted the lack of compact devices that carried multiple uses of what they needed most: bandages, antiseptic, pills, and ointment.
Parents and individuals on-the-go often find themselves lacking essential first-aid solutions due to the inconvenience of carrying around a conventional, fully-stocked first-aid kit. Traditional first-aid kits are packed full of different materials to address varying needs, but these often are too robust for the casual scrape or cut that a child might experience on the playground or an adult might experience on a hike. Some individuals have resorted to packing their own plastic bags of various bandages and medical aids prior to leaving on a trip. Others simply choose to go without first-aid supplies. Thus, we eventually shifted our direction to reinvent a portable first-aid kit.
